GENETIC ANALYSIS IN RICE (Oryza sativa L.)
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1987Genetic analysis of grain yield and yield attributes in rice, with 7x7 dialiel revealed that although both additives and dominance components are significant for all the characters studied, additive genstic component was predominant for plant height and grain yield and non-additive genetic components for days to flowering, productive tillers per plant ...

Black Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Breeding
2020Black rice (Oryza sativa L.) is popular with its distinct characteristics like black color grain and high anthocyanin and mineral content, including several health benefits, and mainly distributed in Asian countries like China and India. Black rice becomes more important because of its nutrient value.

CORRELATION STUDIES IN RICE (Oryza sativa L.)
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1988A study was made to find out the phenotypic correlation, correlation based you parents, correlation based on 'sca and heterosis of hybrids far, yield and yield components using 7-X 7 diallel. The results showed positive and significant association of productive tillers.

A study on heterosis in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Euphytica, 1974Heterosis for yield and four yield components, viz. panicle number per plant, panicle length, spikelet per panicle and 1000-grain weight, was studied in fifteen crosses involving six varieties of rice, Oryza sativa L. Positive and significant heterosis for yield was observed in 11 and 8 crosses, over the mid-parent and the better parent, respectively ...

Linkage studies in rice (Oryza sativa, L.)
Euphytica, 1960Linkage studies in rice up to 1959 have been briefly reviewed with a special reference to the work carried out at the Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, India. The crossover values for several genes have been furnished. Instances have been cited wherein two or more genes appear to be involved in determining the expression of anthocyanin ...

Genetic and biochemical basis of scent in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1987The inheritance and biochemical basis of scent in rice was studied in the F2 population along with the F1 and its two parents, scented and non-scented 'Pokura' rice strains. The F1 plants were found to be nonscented while the F2 plants seggregated into a 3∶1 ratio (non-scented: scented).

Linkage studies in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Euphytica, 1973In an intervarietal cross between IR 8 and Wanar 1, inheritance of pigmentation in coleoptile, leaf-sheath, auricle, node, internode, septum and glume was studied. A pleiotropic gene conditioning pigment in all these parts has been identified which may probably be one of the basic genes for anthocyanin pigmentation.
