Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, the bacterial blight pathogen of rice, secretes a number of effectors through a type 3 secretion system. One of these effectors, called XopQ, is required for virulence and suppression of rice innate immune responses induced

Domain Engineering and Anisotropic Domain‐Wall Photovoltaic Effects in Ferroelectric SnS
The bulk photovoltaic effect at domain walls in the in‐plane ferroelectric 2D semiconductor SnS is investigated using periodic domain structures. Unlike conventional oxide ferroelectrics, domain walls of SnS do not contribute to photocurrent generation perpendicular to the domain walls.

A Strigolactone Signal Inhibits Secondary Lateral Root Development in Rice
Strigolactones (SLs) and their derivatives are plant hormones that have recently been identified as regulators of primary lateral root (LR) development. However, whether SLs mediate secondary LR production in rice (Oryza sativa L.), and how SLs and auxin

Sustainable and Multifunctional Natural Macromolecular Polymers for Aqueous Zn Metal Batteries
We comprehensively review the structure‐function relationships and regulatory mechanism of natural macromolecular polymers in stabilizing zinc anodes at the microscopic and mesoscopic scales. The interactions among polymer structures, optimization strategies, and regulatory mechanisms are discussed systematically summarizing recent related research ...

When a master transcription factor (TF) is lost, bacteria can rapidly rewire gene regulatory networks by co‐opting related regulators. Using experimental evolution in Pseudomonas fluorescens, we show that TF promiscuity (low‐level, non‐cognate binding) provides the raw material for rewiring. Successful co‐option follows a predictable hierarchy governed
