Unlocking Potential: Vegetable Oil Effects on Lactic Acid Extraction

open access: yesChemical Engineering &Technology, EarlyView.
This study investigates the recovery of lactic acid from aqueous solutions using tri‐n‐octylamine (TOA) and various vegetable oils. The highest separation efficiency (74.54 %) and distribution coefficient (2.93) were achieved with rice bran oil. PCA analysis reveals that sesame and rice bran oils are highly similar, offering efficient extraction ...

LiZn/LiAlO2/Li2O‐Derived Chemical Confinement Enabling Hierarchical and Oriented Li Plating/Stripping

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
The LiAlO2 phase within the LiZn/LiAlO2/Li2O configuration can lower the energy barriers of Li plating on the LiZn phase and that of Li stripping from the Li2O phase. Moreover, the energy barriers of Li plating/stripping for the LiAlO2 phase lie between those of the Li2O and LiZn phases.

Carbohydrate Wastes to Chemicals (CtC): From Second‐Generation Sugars to Glycols

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
The Carbohydrate Wastes to Chemicals (CtC) project examined an alternative and sustainable route to the production of glycols with propylene glycol as the main product. Thereby, the utilization of carbohydrate‐containing residues as second‐generation sugars was researched as alternative biogenic feedstock from biomass.
