Puddled Soil and Rice Seedling Characteristics Affecting Rice Seedling Withdrawal Force

Transactions of the ASAE, 1989
ABSTRACT THE effect of puddled soil and rice seedling characteristics on the rice seedling withdrawal force was determined in a laboratory study. Rice seedling withdrawal force is a good index of seedling anchorage in puddled soil. The goal of this study was to obtain fundamental information on rice seedling and puddled soil characteristics needed for ...

Phytotoxicity of Thiocyanate to Rice Seedlings

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2012
The acute toxicity of potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) and ammonium thiocyanate (NH(4)SCN) to rice seedlings was tested. Hydroponically-grown plants showed different responses to the two species of thiocyanate. NH(4)SCN caused more severe stress to rice seedlings than KSCN.

Agmatine deiminase in rice seedlings

Phytochemistry, 1985
Abstract Agmatine deiminase activity in rice embryos increased gradually upto 24 hr during germination and then decreased. Gibberellic acid and kinetin inhibited the activity when added to the germination medium. The enzyme was purified 717 fold with specific activity 788.5 nkat/mg protein and yield 8.8%.
