Genotypic potentiality and selection index of ridge gourd (Luffa acutangula L.)

open access: yesBangladesh Journal of Botany, 2020
Fifteen ridge gourd genotypes were investigated to select the superior genotypes. The overall analysis reveals that PCV was higher than GCV for all the traits. Significant variation was found among genotypes for the qualitative traits under divergence analysis. The selection index reveals that maximum genetic gain and relative efficiency over selection

African Horned Melon (Cucumis metuliferus): Climate‐Resilient Crop and Gene Donor in the Breeding of Major Cucurbits

open access: yesPlant Breeding, Volume 144, Issue 2, Page 159-181, April 2025.
ABSTRACT African horned melon (Cucumis metuliferus E. Meyer ex Naudin, 2n = 2x = 24) is an under‐researched and under‐utilised cucurbit crop primarily grown for its nutritious fruit. In its centre of diversity, the crop is valued for its relatively high tolerance to insect pests, diseases, drought and heat stress. It is a potential opportunity crop and

Responses to Livelihood Precarity in Dryland India: Diversifying Out of Agrarian Distress

open access: yesDevelopment and Change, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1289-1314, November 2024.
ABSTRACT Scholars of critical agrarian political economy see agriculture in liberalization‐era India as a form of disguised unemployment, part of wider agrarian distress. This article engages with literature differentiating the class/caste responses to agrarian and non‐farm livelihood distress in India to understand the different diversification ...

The archaeology of shellfishing practices on Ua Huka, Marquesas Archipelago (French Polynesia)

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, Volume 59, Issue 2, Page 251-274, July 2024.
Abstract Shellfish remains are ubiquitous to coastal archaeological sites in the Marquesas but have seldom been the focus of dedicated investigations into their contribution to past diet and daily life.
