Nonlocal phase transitions: Rigidity results and anisotropic geometry

open access: yes, 2016
We provide a series of rigidity results for a nonlocal phase transition equation. The results that we obtain are an improvement of flatness theorem and a series of theorems concerning the one-dimensional symmetry for monotone and minimal solutions, in the research line dictaded by a classical conjecture of E. De Giorgi.

Extending a rigidity result of Lytchak

open access: yes, 2019
We extend a rigidity result of Alexander Lytchak by relaxing the requirement that the CAT(1) space be geodesically complete.

Some Rigidity Results on Shrinking Gradient Ricci Soliton

open access: yesThe Journal of Geometric Analysis
Suppose $(M^n, g, f)$ is a complete shrinking gradient Ricci soliton. We give several rigidity results under some natural conditions, generalizing the results in \cite{Petersen-Wylie,Guan-Lu-Xu}. Using maximum principle, we prove that shrinking gradient Ricci soliton with constant scalar curvature $R=1$ is isometric to a finite quotient of $\mathbb{R ...

Strand Tension Control in Anchor Span for Suspension Bridge Using Dynamic Balance Theory

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
Strand tension control is essential in suspension bridge safety. However, few quantitative studies have examined the bending rigidity and boundary condition behavior of strands in the anchor span of suspension bridges because of their special structure ...

International Outsourcing and Wage Rigidity: A Formal Approach and First Empirical Evidence [PDF]

open access: yes
International Outsourcing effects on labor markets are mostly analyzed within flexible wage settings. Using a modern duality approach, this paper formally investigates differences occurring in industries with low skilled wage rigidity and, for the first ...
