Localized input fields in rigorous coupled-wave analysis

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2014
We introduce a new treatment for localized input fields in coupled-wave theory. It consists of a combination of angular spectrum decomposition and a cyclic formulation of rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA), which does not require the computation of several standard RCWA calculations.

Rigorous coupled-wave analysis for multilayered grating structures

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
A numerically stable and systematic implementation of the rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) for the general multilayered grating structures is presented for both TE and TM modes. Numerical results of the approach are shown for the diffraction-based optical device as an example and are compared with the scalar diffraction method to illustrate the ...

Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis for Plasmonic Nanoparticles

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2017
Electromagnetic simulation packages for nanoparticles have become of interest for science and engineering community because of interesting properties of nanomaterials, such as, plasmonics and localized field enhancement. There are several approaches to calculate electromagnetic wave responses including time domain and frequency domain; each approach ...
