Scalable simple liquid deposition techniques for the enhancement of light absorption in thin films: Distributed Bragg reflectors coupled to 1D nanoimprinted textures

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
Light trapping within a light absorbing medium is a key to highly efficient thin film solar cells. We propose a large-scale procedure based on materials with low absorption for the fabrication of combined Distributed Bragg Reflector (DBR) and grating ...

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

D 1 and D 2 resonances in coupled-channel scattering amplitudes from lattice QCD

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Isospin-1/2 charmed axial-vector D ∗ π − D ∗ η − D s ∗ K ¯ $$ {D}_s^{\ast}\overline{K} $$ scattering amplitudes are computed, along with interactions in several other I = 1/2 J P channels. Using lattice QCD, we work at a light-quark mass corresponding to

Influence of Thickness on the Holographic Parameters of H-PDLC Materials

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, 2014
For photopolymers the compound concentrations and final thickness of the sample should be known in order to model hologram formation and introduce the reaction-diffusion kinetics of the monomer-polymer system.

Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Self‐Assembled Inorganic Nanomembrane Tubes: Rolled‐Up Piezoelectrics for Microacoustic Wave‐Based Actuators and Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a self‐assembly process to generate free‐standing piezoelectric nanomembranes, forming ultracompact microtubular acoustic wave sensors and actuators. The miniaturized 3D piezoelectric platform reported in this work can be applied in telecommunication, energy harvesting, and acoustofluidics. Moreover, the 3D self‐assembly can add
