Dispersity-controlled ring-opening polymerization of epoxide [PDF]
Dispersity or molar mass distribution (Ð M) profoundly influences polymer properties, but its control remains a challenge, especially for ring-opening polymerization (ROP).

Cationic-anionic synchronous ring-opening polymerization [PDF]
Chemical reactions with incompatible mechanisms (such as nucleophilic reactions and electrophilic reactions, cationic polymerization and anionic polymerization) are usually difficult to perform simultaneously in one-pot.

Photoinitiated Cationic Ring-Opening Polymerization of Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane
Photochemical techniques have recently been revitalized as they can readily be adapted to different polymerization modes to yield a wide range of complex macromolecular structures.

Topochemical Ring-Opening Polymerization of an Oxathianethione. [PDF]
Single crystals of an enantiopure oxathianethione (OTT) were found to spontaneously convert to the corresponding polymer (POTT) through topochemical ring-opening polymerization (topoROP). The polymerization proceeds quantitatively and stereospecifically to give crystalline POTT with high molecular weights.

Conditions to Control Furan Ring Opening during Furfuryl Alcohol Polymerization
The chemistry of biomass-derived furans is particularly sensitive to ring openings. These side reactions occur during furfuryl alcohol polymerization.

Ring-Opening Polymerization of Hemoglobin [PDF]
Hemoglobin (Hb), an oxygen-carrying protein, has an α2β2 tetrameric structure that dissociates reversibly into two αβ dimers (α2β2 ⇄ 2αβ). We synthesized a cyclic Hb-ring monomer with two β subunits bound through a 10 kDa polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain.

Carbodiimide Ring-opening Metathesis Polymerization
Controlled incorporation of nitrogen into macromolecular skeletons is a long-standing challenge whose resolution would enable the preparation of soft materials with the scalability of man-made plastics and functionality of Nature's proteins. Nylons and polyurethanes notwithstanding, nitrogen-rich polymer backbones remain scarce, and their synthesis ...
