Ring-closing metathesis of heteroatom-substituted dienes
The ring-closing metathesis (RCM) of dienes that contain at least one participating heteroatom-substituted olefin is reviewed (olefins substituted with O, N, S, P, Si, B, and halogen atoms will be considered).

Stereoselective Total Syntheses of (3,5)-Sonnerlactone and (3,5)-Sonnerlactone
A highly convergent and concise total syntheses of (3 R ,5 R )-Sonnerlactone and (3 R ,5 S ) Sonnerlactone from a readily available L -malic acid is described. The following series of reactions such as Barbier allylation, photochemical esterification and

Recent Advancements in Ring Closing Olefin Metathesis
A short overview on recent developments in ring closing metathesis (RCM) of 1,ω-dienes to cycloalkenes is provided, with particular emphasis on applications to natural product synthesis and the preparation of olfactory perfume ingredients. These examples

Why add another catalyst when the product itself holds the power to catalyze its own formation? Autocatalysis in synthetic chemistry enhances reaction efficiency and uncovers novel catalytic behavior across both closed‐shell and open‐shell systems, expanding reactivity and enabling innovative design strategies.

Tandem Ring Opening−Ring Closing Metathesis of Cyclic Olefins
Ruthenium alkylidene 1 has been utilized in the tandem ring opening−ring closing metathesis of cyclic olefins. This reaction produces a bicyclic molecule from a cyclic olefin.

Biotinylated Metathesis Catalysts: Synthesis and Performance in Ring Closing Metathesis [PDF]
Nine biotinylated Grubbs-Hoveyda and Grubbs-type metathesis catalysts were synthesized and evaluated in ring closing metathesis reactions of N-tosyl diallylamine and 5-hydroxy-2-vinylphenyl acrylate.

Ruthenium-Catalyzed Ring-Opening and Ring-Closing Enyne Metathesis
When a CH2Cl2 solution of an enyne containing the cycloalkene moiety was stirred in the presence of ruthenium−carbene complex (10 mol %) at room temperature under ethylene gas (1 atm), ring-opening and ring-closing metathesis occurred to afford cyclized ...

Distinct Ligand‐ and Metal‐Centered Phosphorescence in a Terbium Carbazolyl Complex
Terbium and lanthanum carbazolide complexes show two distinct modes of luminescence: Strongly temperature‐dependent narrow‐line terbium emission could be induced. In addition, both the terbium and the lanthanum complexes show broad‐line interligand emission processes with excited states of microsecond life‐time.
