Electrodynamics of a split-ring Josephson resonator in a microwave line
We consider the coupling of an electromagnetic wave to a split-ring Josephson oscillator or radio-frequency SQUID in the hysteretic regime. This device is similar to an atomic system in that it has a number of steady states.

Isochronal synchrony and bidirectional communication with delay-coupled nonlinear oscillators
We propose a basic mechanism for isochronal synchrony and communication with mutually delay-coupled chaotic systems. We show that two Ikeda ring oscillators (IROs), mutually coupled with a propagation delay, synchronize isochronally when both are ...

Gigahertz voltage-controlled ring oscillator
Designs for ring oscillators that provide a 2:1 range of voltage-controllable frequency are compared. Simulated results are given for a ring oscillator intended for a 1 ?m NMOS monolithic IC implementation. The circuit displays a variable frequency from 1.5 GHz to 2.5 GHz, and requires no off-chip tuning elements.

Chern Classes of Tautological Sheaves on Hilbert Schemes
We give an algorithmic description of the action of the Chern classes of tautological bundles on the cohomology of Hilbert schemes of points on surfaces within the framework of Nakajima's oscillator algebra.

Oscillations in well-mixed, deterministic feedback systems: Beyond ring oscillators
A ring oscillator is a system in which one species regulates the next, which regulates the next and so on until the last species regulates the first. In addition, the number of the regulations which are negative, and so result in a reduction in the regulated species, is odd, making the overall feedback in the loop negative.

Boolean Computation Using Self-Sustaining Nonlinear Oscillators
Self-sustaining nonlinear oscillators of practically any type can function as latches and registers if Boolean logic states are represented physically as the phase of oscillatory signals.

Light-sensitive CMOS ring oscillator
A simple light-sensitive CMOS ring oscillator, the oscillation frequency of which depends on the chip ambient illumination, is presented. An experimental 21-stage ring oscillator fabricated in 0.5 /spl mu/m CMOS changes the pulse frequency from 50 Hz in total darkness to 2 MHz in extreme bright ambient at V/sub dd/=1 V.

Stability of laser oscillator systems [PDF]
One of the goals of the Stanford University-NASA Laser-In-space Technology Experiment (SUNLITE) program is to develop ultrastable optical frequency oscillators that can lead to high resolution time standards and ultimately standard clocks.
