A nationwide student survey on biochemistry learning resources in Italy
We conducted a survey among Italian university students to investigate their preferred study materials for biochemistry. We then analyzed the collected data to identify these materials. This information may be valuable to the Biochemistry educational community. The graphical abstract was created with Claude (Opus 5.5; Anthropic, 2026).

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.

Growth in width and FtsZ ring longitudinal positioning in a gammaproteobacterial symbiont [PDF]
Rod-shaped bacteria usually grow in length and place their FtsZ ring and division site at midcell, perpendicular to their long axis [1,2]. Here, we provide morphometric and immunocytochemical evidence that a nematode-associated gammaproteobacterium [3,4] grows in width, sets a constricting FtsZ ring parallel to its long axis, and divides longitudinally

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ofatumumab in patients with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), and compare it with rituximab. Methods We conducted a single–center, observational study including 22 MOGAD patients treated with ofatumumab and 21 treated with rituximab.

WOOD CELLULAR DENDROCLIMATOLOGY: TESTING NEW PROXIES IN GREAT BASIN BRISTLECONE PINE
Dendroclimatic proxies can be generated from the analysis of wood cellular structures, allowing for a more complete understanding of the physiological mechanisms that control the climatic response of tree species.

ABSTRACT Introduction Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) have demonstrated significant weight‐reducing effects and may offer benefits in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH); however, recent concerns about the risk of non‐arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) have emerged.

Comparing the impact of climate variables on healthy and declined masses of oak (Quercus brantti Lindl) in the “Khorram Abad” city [PDF]
In this study, using dendroclimatology (a branch of the science of dendrochronology), the impact of climate variables on normal masses and declined oak in the city “Khorram Abad” was studied.

ABSTRACT Objective We aim to comprehensively analyze how regional tumor and edema characteristics are associated with clinical presentations and survival outcomes in a large cohort of glioblastoma patients. Methods Patients with IDH‐wildtype glioblastoma who received brain MRI from 2010 to 2023 were included.
