SABTR: semantic analysis-based tourism recommendation

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
Online tourism spot recommendations, as a key component of tourism services, aim to present travel options that align with users’ personal preferences. However, current recommendation systems often underperform due to the sparsity of tourism data and the

Optimizing Wireless Sensor Network Installations by Visibility Analysis on 3D Point Clouds

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2019
In this paper, a MATLAB tool for the automatic detection of the best locations to install a wireless sensor network (WSN) is presented. The implemented code works directly on high-resolution 3D point clouds and aims to help in positioning sensors that ...

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Risk Assessment System for Oil and Gas Pipelines Laid in One Ditch Based on Quantitative Risk Analysis

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In view of the vegetation reduction caused by the continuous construction of oil and gaspipelines, the pipelines have been designed to be laid in one ditch to reduce land occupation. However, owing to the small spacing between the pipelines, the fault ...

Fuzzy Reasoning for the analysis of risks in geotechnical engineering Application to a French Case [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The analysis of risks induced by unstable cliffs is one of the major and important tasks in geotechnieal engineering, This analysis should take into account the fact that some engineering parameters that are necessary for any risk analysts around ...

Criticality Analysis for Maintenance Purposes: A Study for Complex In‐service Engineering Assets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The purpose of this paper is to establish a basis for a criticality analysis, considered here as a prerequisite, a first required step to review the current maintenance programs, of complex in‐service engineering assets. Review is understood as a reality

Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

APPLICATION OF RISK ANALYSIS WITHIN VALUE MANAGEMENT: A CASE STUDY IN DAM ENGINEERING

open access: yes, 2013
Nowadays, considering uncertainties and complexities in dam engineering problems, implementation of risk analysis is essential more than before. On the other hand, reliability analysis is an efficient approach which can be applied in order to quantify ...
