Risk-Sensitive Value Measure Method for Projects Evaluation

open access: yesJournal of Real Options and Strategy, 2010
In this paper we study the evaluation problems for random cash flows. We first consider the evaluation of random variables, which are supposed to present the random present values (RPV) of cash flows, and investigate what the suitable evaluation functional of RPV is.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Operational risk and its relationship with institution size in the Hungarian banking sector [PDF]

open access: yes
In addition to credit, market and liquidity risk, measuring and managing operational risk (risk associated with people, systems, processes and external events) is a great challenge for banks. In 2010, around HUF 35 billion in operational risk losses were

Stochastic Approximation Methods for Distortion Risk Measure Optimization

open access: yes
Distortion Risk Measures (DRMs) capture risk preferences in decision-making and serve as general criteria for managing uncertainty. This paper proposes gradient descent algorithms for DRM optimization based on two dual representations: the Distortion-Measure (DM) form and Quantile-Function (QF) form.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Research on Risk Measurement Methods of Scientific and Technological Innovation: A Dynamic Tension Model Based on Novelty and Adaptation

open access: yesSystems
Grounded in knowledge recombination theory and innovation tension theory, this study develops a novel measurement framework for scientific and technological innovation (STI) risks that captures the dynamic and systemic equilibrium between novelty and ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Capital allocation in financial institutions: the Euler method [PDF]

open access: yes
Capital allocation is used for many purposes in financial institutions and for this purpose several methods are known. The aim of this paper is to review possible methods (we present six of them) and to help financial companies to choose between the ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Vulnerability : a view from different disciplines [PDF]

open access: yes
Practitioners from different disciplines use different meanings and concepts of vulnerability, which, in turn, have led to diverse methods of measuring it.
