Dynamics of the OH group and the electronic structure of liquid alcohols

open access: yesStructural Dynamics, 2014
In resonant inelastic soft x-ray scattering (RIXS) from molecular and liquid systems, the interplay of ground state structural and core-excited state dynamical contributions leads to complex spectral shapes that partially allow for ambiguous ...

Engineering Na‐Rich P2‐Type Layered Oxides Through Li/Ti Dual Doping for Oxygen Redox Activation and Superior Structural Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
P2‐type sodium layered oxides have potential for high‐voltage operation but suffer from structural instability and capacity fading. This work demonstrates that synergistic Li and Ti co‐doping enhances sodium inventory, suppresses detrimental phase transitions, and activates reversible lattice oxygen redox.

Circular dichroism in resonant inelastic x-ray scattering from birefringence in CuO

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) has become a prominent technique to study quasiparticle excitations. With advances in polarization analysis capabilities at different facilities, RIXS offers exceptional potential for investigating symmetry ...

The TRIXS end-station for femtosecond time-resolved resonant inelastic x-ray scattering experiments at the soft x-ray free-electron laser FLASH

open access: yesStructural Dynamics, 2020
We present the experimental end-station TRIXS dedicated to time-resolved soft x-ray resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) experiments on solid samples at the free-electron laser FLASH.

1s2p RIXS Calculations for 3d Transition Metal Ions in Octahedral Symmetry

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2018
We present a series of 1s2p resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) calculations for 3d transition metal ions in octahedral symmetry covering each ground state between 3d0 and 3d9.

Probing magnetic orbitals and Berry curvature with circular dichroism in resonant inelastic X-ray scattering

open access: yesnpj Quantum Materials, 2023
Resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) can probe localized excitations at selected atoms in materials, including particle-hole transitions between the valence and conduction bands.

Listening to young children with disabilities: Experiences of quality in mainstream primary education

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract All children should have access to quality education through a child‐centred pedagogy. An inclusive, child‐centred pedagogy uses a strength‐based view of children that recognises each child as unique and competent, providing children with multiple opportunities to explore and learn at their own pace.

Ultrafast X-ray Photochemistry at European XFEL: Capabilities of the Femtosecond X-ray Experiments (FXE) Instrument

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Time-resolved X-ray methods are widely used for monitoring transient intermediates over the course of photochemical reactions. Ultrafast X-ray absorption and emission spectroscopies as well as elastic X-ray scattering deliver detailed electronic and ...

Prosocial behaviour in primary and secondary school students. Effects of the CYBUPRE intervention

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Prosocial behaviour is regarded as a critical factor in reducing aggressive behaviours among peers, both in physical settings and virtual spaces. This variable facilitates the enhancement of social relationships, promoting empathy, deep listening, physical and verbal service, and even solidarity, among other benefits.
