A long antisense RNA in plant chloroplasts [PDF]
Based on computational prediction of RNA secondary structures, a long antisense RNA (asRNA) was found in chloroplasts of Arabidopsis, Nicotiana tabacum and poplar, which occurs in two to three major transcripts. Mapping of primary 5' ends, northern hybridizations and quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qPCR ...

Schematic illustration of the proposed mechanism: PEG/RGD‐PSLs mimic apoptotic cells to engage PS receptors (notably CD300a), transducing an inhibitory signal that suppresses the MyD88/NF‐κB pathway, leading to global anti‐inflammatory and pro‐reparative effects.

The effect of loop size in antisense and target RNAs on the efficiency of antisense RNA control
Most natural antisense RNAs display a high degree of secondary structure with stem-loops as their most prominent feature. Mutations affecting the inhibitory activity of these RNAs most often map in or close to loop regions in both the antisense and target RNAs. The primary recognition loops often contain 5-7 unpaired nucleotides.

Advanced Materials for Biologics Delivery to Brain Tumors
Material innovation is central to unlocking the therapeutic potential of biologics against many central nervous system diseases, including brain cancer. By engineering carriers with controlled transport, targeting, and release properties, advanced materials can overcome the blood–brain barrier and tumor microenvironment, improving the delivery of ...

Cis-Antisense Transcription Gives Rise to Tunable Genetic Switch Behavior: A Mathematical Modeling Approach. [PDF]
Antisense transcription has been extensively recognized as a regulatory mechanism for gene expression across all kingdoms of life. Despite the broad importance and extensive experimental determination of cis-antisense transcription, relatively little is ...

A small internal antisense RNA (aftsH) of all3642 (ftsH) in Anabaena sp PCC 7120
In bacteria, FtsH proteases are involved in quality maintenance of membrane proteins and cellular regulation at the level of protein stability. Among the 4 predicted ftsH genes in the cyanobacterium Anabaena sp. PCC 7120, namely alr1262, all3642, all4776

Iterative Selection of DNA Nanostructures for Cellular Uptake
DNA nanostructures are promising cell targeting delivery vehicles for therapeutics, but the targeting behavior is not fully understood. In this study, libraries of DNA nanostructures that can be amplified and sequenced are combined with cellular uptake as a selection pressure to iteratively refine DNA structures taken up in cells to better understand ...
