Neddylation Targets and Stabilizes NLRP3 to Augment Inflammasome‐Mediated Colitis and Mood Disorder

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NLRP3 inflammasome contributes to colitis and mood disorder. This study demonstrates that neddylation targets NLRP3 at K287, which hinders its interaction with K48‐linked ubiquitination E3 Trim31 and thereby stabilizes it. Neddylation blockade in myeloid cells and microglia mitigates DSS‐induced colitis and psychological stress‐induced anxiety‐like ...

The LINC01138 drives malignancies via activating arginine methyltransferase 5 in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Long intergenic non-coding RNAs have been linked to cancer development. Here the authors, using RNA-seq and genomic amplification data, identify lincRNAs deregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma and propose that Linc01138 is stabilized by IGF2BP1/3 in the

YKT6 Promotes Bladder Cancer Progression by Stabilizing β‐catenin Through USP7‐Mediated Deubiquitination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The SNARE protein YKT6 is upregulated in bladder cancer (BLCA), correlating with poor prognosis. YKT6 promotes tumor proliferation and metastasis by activating Wnt/β‐catenin signaling. It recruits Ubiquitin‐Specific Peptidase 7 (USP7) to deubiquitinate and stabilize β‐catenin, enhancing its nuclear accumulation and driving oncogenic gene expression ...

DDX1 is required for non-spliceosomal splicing of tRNAs but not of XBP1 mRNA

open access: yesCommunications Biology
RNA helicase DEAD-box helicase 1 (DDX1) forms a complex with the RNA ligase 2´,3´-cyclic phosphate and 5´-OH ligase (RTCB), which plays a vital role in non-spliceosomal splicing of tRNA and X-box binding protein 1 (XBP1) mRNA.

RNF20 dual regulation of MDA5 signaling to maintain immune homeostasis in chickens

open access: yesJournal of Virology
RIG-I and MDA5, known as the RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs), play a pivotal role in inducing antiviral responses to RNA viral infections. While chickens lack RIG-I, they possess a functionally enhanced MDA5 that recognizes pathogens and regulates immunity ...

Epstein‐Barr Virus Expressed Long Non‐Coding RNA (lncBARTs) Regulate EBV Latent Genome Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
EBV produces abundant level of lncBARTs, which are essential for maintaining viral genome replication in EBV‐associated cancers. LncBARTs interact with a complex comprising BRD4, CTCF and viral protein EBNA1 at EBV oriP region. This interaction tethers oriP to host chromosomes, facilitating EBV episome replication.
