Identification and Application of a Novel Patulin Degrading Enzyme From Meyerozyma guilliermondii

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Patulin (PAT), a hazardous mycotoxin, threatens human health. A novel yeast‐derived short‐chain dehydrogenase/reductase effectively degrades PAT into nontoxic ascladiol via catalytic triad activity. The biological detoxification process has no significant effect on the quality of fresh pear juice.

Establishment of a circRNA-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase signature and nomogram to predict immunotherapeutic efficacy and prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medical Research
Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common type of malignant tumor where the prognosis is dismal. Circular RNA (CircRNA) is a novel RNA that regulates downstream gene transcription and translation to influence the progression of HCC.

Comprehensive benchmarking of large language models for RNA secondary structure prediction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Inspired by the success of large language models (LLM) for DNA and proteins, several LLM for RNA have been developed recently. RNA-LLM uses large datasets of RNA sequences to learn, in a self-supervised way, how to represent each RNA base with a semantically rich numerical vector.

The MdHB7L–MdICE1L–MdHOS1 Module Fine‐Tunes Apple Cold Response via CBF‐Dependent and CBF‐Independent Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In early cold response, MdICE1L utilizes MdHB7L as a cofactor to facilitate the transcriptional activation of MdCBFs, thereby activating cold signaling rapidly and strongly. Subsequently, MdICE1L is degraded by MdHOS1. Meanwhile, MdHB7L is released and accumulates.

RiboFlow: Conditional De Novo RNA Sequence-Structure Co-Design via Synergistic Flow Matching [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Ribonucleic acid (RNA) binds to molecules to achieve specific biological functions. While generative models are advancing biomolecule design, existing methods for designing RNA that target specific ligands face limitations in capturing RNA's conformational flexibility, ensuring structural validity, and overcoming data scarcity.

HDAC6 and USP9X Control Glutamine Metabolism by Stabilizing GS to Promote Glioblastoma Tumorigenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) growth relies on glutamine synthetase (GS), which is stabilized by histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) and deubiquitinated by ubiquitin‐specific peptidase 9, X‐linked (USP9X). HDAC6 promotes GS deacetylation, while USP9X removes its K48‐linked polyubiquitination, enhancing GS stability.

The E3 Ubiquitin Ligase Mind Bomb 1 Controls Adenovirus Genome Release at the Nuclear Pore Complex

open access: yesCell Reports, 2019
Summary: Adenoviruses (AdVs) cause respiratory, ocular, and gastrointestinal tract infection and inflammation in immunocompetent people and life-threatening disease upon immunosuppression.
