Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Self‐Assembling Hybrid Hydrogel Reprograms the Stromal Vascular Fraction to Treat Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioinspired injectable hydrogel that enhances the therapeutic potential of stem cell‐rich stromal vascular fraction for treating osteoarthritis. By reprogramming cell behavior through epigenetic modulation, the hydrogel promotes cartilage regeneration and reduces joint damage in a rat model, offering a promising new approach for ...

Multi‐Enzyme Mimetic Molybdenum Nitride Nanozymes Reshape Subgingival Microenvironment for Synergistic Periodontitis Therapy via ROS Regulation and Microbiome Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.

Metrics on RNA Secondary Structures

Journal of Computational Biology, 2000
Many different programs have been developed for the prediction of the secondary structure of an RNA sequence. Some of these programs generate an ensemble of structures, all of which have free energy close to that of the optimal structure, making it important to be able to quantify how similar these different structures are.

Secondary structure of Qβ RNA

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1977
Abstract The complete set of possible secondary structures of a variant Qβ RNA sequenced by Schaffner has been found using a computer program which allows G-U pairing as well as the usual Watson-Crick A-U and G-C pairing. Of special interest are those secondary structures with the highest double-strandedness.

Secondary Structure of Ribosomal RNA

Science, 1970
Infrared spectra were obtained for 16 S and for 23 S ribosomal RNA's in D 2 O solutions. The percentage of each base in the paired and unpaired regions of the RNA was determined from the spectra. The secondary structures of 16 S and 23

5S RNA secondary structure

Nature, 1975
NUMEROUS attempts have been made to deduce a secondary structure of 5S RNA1–4. Differing approaches have yielded various structures, but each turns out to be inconsistent with either physical, chemical, biochemical, or comparative evidence. Clearly the situation is not analogous to that which obtained for transfer RNA (tRNA).
