Aviation Clear-air turbulence (CAT), which is invisible to the naked eye and undetectable by sensors onboard aircraft, can cause discomfort or injuries to passengers and often forces planes to alter their flight paths to avoid it. Storer et al. use a global climate model to project how climate warming is expected to influence CAT.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

The Weak Blue Bump of H2106-099 and AGN De-Reddening [PDF]
We present multi-frequency spectra of the Seyfert 1 galaxy H2106-099, from radio to hard X-rays, spanning over a decade of observations. The hard X-ray (2-20 keV) spectrum measured with Ginga had a Log slope of -0.80 +/- 0.02 on 1988 May 18 and -1.02 +/-
