Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram based Road Network Characteristics Identification and Simulation [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
As an inherent property of the road network, macroscopic fundamental diagram (MFD) method can effectively describe the traffic status of the urban roads and identify the relationship among key factors, such as traffic flow and occupancy. Currently, using

Short‐term traffic flow prediction of road network based on deep learning

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, 2020
Due to the fact that existing traffic flow forecasting methods cannot completely reflect the real time traffic situation of the road network, a new method of short-term traffic flow prediction is proposed based on deep learning in this study. Firstly, in

Why and When Are Evidence‐Based Interventions Adopted in Paediatric Supportive Care? A Qualitative Exploration of the Determinants of Photobiomodulation Implementation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Soil geohazard mapping for improved asset management of UK local roads [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Unclassified roads comprise 60% of the road network in the United Kingdom (UK). The resilience of this locally important network is declining. It is considered by the Institution of Civil Engineers to be “at risk” and is ranked 26th in the world ...
