The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Graph Convolutional Networks for Road Networks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 27th ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2019
Machine learning techniques for road networks hold the potential to facilitate many important transportation applications. Graph Convolutional Networks (GCNs) are neural networks that are capable of leveraging the structure of a road network by utilizing information of, e.g., adjacent road segments.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Road Topology Refinement via a Multi-Conditional Generative Adversarial Network

open access: yesSensors, 2019
With the rapid development of intelligent transportation, there comes huge demands for high-precision road network maps. However, due to the complex road spectral performance, it is very challenging to extract road networks with complete topologies ...

An Algorithmic Framework for Labeling Road Maps

open access: yes, 2016
Given an unlabeled road map, we consider, from an algorithmic perspective, the cartographic problem to place non-overlapping road labels embedded in their roads.

Fast simulation for Road Traffic Network [PDF]

open access: yesRAIRO - Operations Research, 2001
Summary: In this paper we present a method to perform fast simulation of large Markovian systems. This method is based on the use of three concepts: Markov chain uniformization, event-driven dynamics, and modularity. An application of urban traffic simulation is presented to illustrate the performance of our approach.
