Using the abstraction hierarchy to identify how the purpose and structure of road transport systems contributes to road trauma

open access: yesTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives, 2019
Research is beginning to demonstrate the merits of considering the broader road transport system when attempting to understand and prevent road trauma. This study involved the use of Work Domain Analysis, a systems analysis method, to develop a model of ...

From the historical Roman road network to modern infrastructure in Italy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
An integrated and widespread road system, like the one built during the Roman Empire in Italy, plays an important role today in facilitating the construction of new infrastructure. This paper investigates the historical path of Roman roads as main determinant of both motorways and railways in the country.

Molecular and functional profiling unravels targetable vulnerabilities in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We used whole exome and RNA‐sequencing to profile divergent genomic and transcriptomic landscapes of microsatellite stable (MSS) and microsatellite instable (MSI) colorectal cancer. Alterations were classified using a computational score for integrative cancer variant annotation and prioritization.

Research of multimodal transport potential of major cities in China based on the satellite remote sensing [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
By two or more modes of transportation to connect with each other and complete the transport process, multimodal transport could significantly improve transport efficiency, reduce costs, while promote energy conservation and emission reduction, compared ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Purchase, circulation and fuel taxation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
During the last decade, the UK and many other developed nations have reformed existing forms of road transport taxation to address a number of transport policy goals.

Road Transport in Maharashtra

open access: yes, 2022
Maharashtra has a vast network of roadways, including major district roads, smaller district roads, village roads, and state and federal highways. Roads are the most common means of transportation, used by more than 80% of passengers and 60% of freight.

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Smart Transport in road transport infrastructure

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Abstract Introduction of new technologies in cities through effective interaction between people and modern IT management tools has introduced the concept of «smart city» able to independently manage its own resources, energy, space and information to improve life quality. One of the main components of a «smart city» is «smart transport»

Malignant lymphomas and road transport workers. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Epidemiology & Community Health, 1983
The relative risks of malignant lymphomas among road transport workers were investigated using the National Cancer Registry in England and Wales. Drivers of buses and coaches (OCC unit 120) had increased risks for both Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas and the drivers of other road passenger vehicles (OCC unit 121) for Hodgkin's lymphomas only ...
