Educational Robot Arm Platform
Computación y Sistemas, 2020A robot is a complex machine that involves the conjunction of many technologies working harmoniously together to provide to the final user, a nice interface to interact. The kind of problems needed to be solved to have a robotic arm involves overcoming lateral loads, power consumption, solution of kinematics equations, etc.

Adaptive learning of a robot arm
1994Alecsys, an implementation of a learning classifier system (LCS) on a net of transputers was utilised to train a robot arm to solve a light approaching task. This task, as well as more complicated ones, has already been learnt by Alecsys implemented on AutonoMouse, a small autonomous robot.

Toward third-arm robots-humanoid robotic arm for cooperation between humans and robots
Advanced Robotics, 1996When we think of robots that in our daily life, hand and eye systems are the key components for the adaptation mechanism to the environment. This paper intends to show research work for humanoid robotic arms. A new design concept for human-friendly robotic manipulators, which we call 'the third-arm robot (TTAR)', is proposed and the necessary ...

Robots testing robots: ALAN-Arm, a humanoid arm for the testing of robotic rehabilitation systems
2017 International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR), 2017Robotics is increasing in popularity as a method of providing rich, personalized and cost-effective physiotherapy to individuals with some degree of upper limb paralysis, such as those who have suffered a stroke. These robotic rehabilitation systems are often high powered, and exoskeletal systems can attach to the person in a restrictive manner ...

Shadow Puppetry with Robotic Arms
Proceedings of the 25th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2017In this work, we aim to introduce our framework that performs the hand shadow puppetry using robotic arms. Human arms are not flexible and dynamic enough to produce many complicated shadow poses so we aim to utilize robotic arms for shadow puppetry. Firstly, we construct a shadow library to cover all the possible shadow images for a single robotic hand.

Perception Enhanced Robotic Arm
2015 IEEE 12th Intl Conf on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing and 2015 IEEE 12th Intl Conf on Autonomic and Trusted Computing and 2015 IEEE 15th Intl Conf on Scalable Computing and Communications and Its Associated Workshops (UIC-ATC-ScalCom), 2015Now, robots are widely used within industry productions. However, with robots alone, they can only do repetitive and fixed works which is clumsy and inflexible. On the other hand, as imperious demands of elderly-care, medical-assistance and service-industry assistance are increased, more intelligent and flexible robots are needed.

Predictive Control of a Robotic Arm
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1988In this paper, a novel scheme with a predictive action is proposed for trajectory control of robotic manipulators. The algorithm is based on a CARIMA model for each joint, by means of which a set of predictive outputs is generated. Then a quadratic function of the future errors is minimized, assuming that after a control horizon of one sampling ...

Computer controlled robotic arm
16th IEEE Symposium Computer-Based Medical Systems, 2003. Proceedings., 2003The aim of this work is to develop an automated mechanical arm, say to serve a glass of water to an immobile patient, using a remote pressing operation. Control of the arm has been designed with limiting switches & a set of potentiometers & DC motors.
