SLIDING OBSERVERS FOR ROBOT MANIPULATORS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1989
Abstract High precision measurements of the joint displacements are available on robot manipulators. By contrast, the velocity measurements obtained through tachometers are in many cases contaminated of noise. Its is therefore economically and technically interesting to investigate the possibility of accurately estimating the speed from indirect ...

Translational and rotational manipulability of robotic manipulators

Proceedings IECON '91: 1991 International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control and Instrumentation, 1990
Several results offering insight into the properties of the manipulability measure are presented based on the idea of separating the total manipulability measure into translational and rotational manipulability measures. It is shown that if a manipulator consists of an arm portion with three joints and a spherical wrist portion with three or more ...

Robotic Manipulation Primitives

2021
The central theme in robotic manipulation is that of the robot interacting with the world through physical contact. We tend to describe that physical contact using specific words that capture the nature of the contact and the action, such as grasp, roll, pivot, push, pull, tilt, close, open etc.

Underactuated Robot Manipulators

2011
In this chapter we present the application of the \({\mathcal{H}}_{\infty}\) and adaptive \({\mathcal{H}}_{\infty}\) control methodologies to underactuated robotic manipulators, or manipulators with more joints than actuators. We begin by presenting a taxonomy to classify the different types of underactuation.

Manipulability Analysis of Redundant Robotic Manipulator

Proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies, 2020
The increased number of applications of the robotic systems in the human life leads to the need of assigning more complex tasks to such systems. The redundancy of the robotic configuration increases performance and precision of the execution of the assigned tasks.

Stackable manipulator for mobile manipulation robot

2012 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2012
This paper proposes a new manipulator concept applied to a mobile robot manipulation system for reducing robot size and weight or increasing its work capacities such as a payload, operating radius, and operating speed. In detail, we propose a new robotic manipulator that uses stackable 4-BAR mechanisms for mobile manipulation robot.
