Development of a robotic assembly complex

Proceedings 1992 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2003
The authors discuss experience gained in developing robotic complexes for the assembly of some components in the machine building industry. Design of assembly cells is discussed. The importance of introducing check operations into the assembly process is pointed out. One rather simple and efficient checking method is described.

Assembly processes with robotic systems

Robotics and Autonomous Systems, 1996
Performing assembly processes by robotic systems requires a combination of the dynamics and control of a robot and of the assembly process, the last one augmented by a description of the contact processes for mating parts. Paper considers problems of that type, gives a theoretical description and some practical examples.

Logical structure of assembly with robots

Proceedings. 1986 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 1986
This paper deals with the operation "assembly" meaned as logical complex operation, wich has the aim to create a structure, which is independent from the physical system on which the robot has to work. This logical structure allows the careful analysis of the robot's operative situations, the prevision of eventual negative facts which influence the ...

Self-assembling modular robotic structures

IEEE Robotics & Automation Magazine, 2007
Cellular automata in the two-dimensional (2-D) world have been used to simulate self-replicating structures based on natural biological systems, evolution, and emergence. In self-replication, large structures consisting of multiple cells are programmed to make copies of themselves using the rule-based systems upon which the cellular automata are ...

A Novel Robotic Multiple Peg-in-Hole Assembly Pipeline: Modeling, Strategy, and Control

IEEE/ASME transactions on mechatronics
Owing to the increased complexity of contact state, compared with the problem of robotic single peg-in-hole assembly, little research and few efficient solutions are currently available for the robotic multiple peg-in-hole assembly, particularly when the
