Kinetic Regimes of Hydrogen Absorption in Thin Films
Knowledge of the hydrogen incorporation mechanisms in thin layers in relation to the amount absorbed is essential to design coatings and devices compatible with hydrogen‐based technologies. A combination of simultaneous in situ methods gives detailed insight into the hydrogenation of a prototypical hydrogen absorber layer in a time‐dependent manner ...

High Voltage Electric Pulse Drilling: A Study of Variables through Simulation and Experimental Tests
With the deepening of drilling depth, the difficulty of drilling engineering increases gradually due to the complex geological conditions. The traditional mechanical drilling method shows the problems of high energy consumption, low efficiency, long ...

Second law of thermodynamics and the failure of rock materials [PDF]
The relation of nonequilibrium thermodynamics to some failure and fracture theories of rock mechanics is investigated. The basic concepts are given to connect failure to the properties of material equations describing the elastic properties.

Weak scale supersymmetry provides elegant solutions to many of the problems of the standard model, but it also generically gives rise to excessive flavor and CP violation. We show that if the mechanism that suppresses the Yukawa couplings also suppresses

Simple models of the hydrofracture process [PDF]
Hydrofracturing to recover natural gas and oil relies on the creation of a fracture network with pressurized water. We analyze the creation of the network in two ways.

ABSTRACT The ascent of novel alternative methods in drug development spotlights the dual needs for improved biological fidelity to in vivo, along with reproducibility, especially in regulatory applications. The need for pre‐clinical models of patient‐derived endometriosis lesions motivates the development of a vascularizable, completely synthetic ...

Current challenges for preseismic electromagnetic emissions: shedding light from micro-scale plastic flow, granular packings, phase transitions and self-affinity notion of fracture process [PDF]
Are there credible electromagnetic (EM) EQ precursors? This a question debated in the scientific community and there may be legitimate reasons for the critical views.

A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Simulation Study on Compound Percussion Frequency Matching Characteristics
There are many researches on the traditional axial impact rock breaking and torsional impact rock breaking mechanism. But researches on the rock breaking mechanism of compound percussion drilling are few and are still in infancy state.
