Applicability of geomechanical classifications for estimation of strength properties in Brazilian rock masses

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências
Many authors have been proposed several correlation equations between geomechanical classifications and strength parameters. However, these correlation equations have been based in rock masses with different characteristics when compared to Brazilian ...

The characterisation and analysis of in-situ and blasted block-size distributions and the blastability of rock masses.

open access: yes, 1997
PhDIn this thesis, previous research on discontinuity geometry, in-situ block size distribution (IBSD), blasted block size distribution (BBSD), and blastability of rock mass is discussed.

SIRT6‐Mediated Deacetylation of ATF3 Promotes Silica‐Induced Lung Fibrosis by Enhancing its Nuclear Import via Binding to Importin α

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SIRT6‐mediated ATF3 acetylation drives MGARP transcription and mitochondrial dysfunction in macrophages, promoting macrophage senescence and pulmonary fibrosis. Mechanistically, HSP70/Importin α competitively binds to ATF3, modulating its nuclear translocation.

Effect of grain scale geometric heterogeneity on tensile stress generation in rock loaded in compression

open access: yes, 2012
Brittle failure of rock is dominated by tensile mechanisms even in an overall compressive stress field. Heterogeneities play a key role in the development of the localized tensile conditions.

Rock slope stability

open access: yes, 2019
This chapter introduces major landslide causes and triggers and outlines the principles of slope stability analysis for rock mass. It discusses the slope stability at the project site with considerations of different ground water conditions. Depending on

An Energy Autonomous Microneedle Array‐Based Sensing System for Continuous Biomarker Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents an innovative self‐powered wearable biosensor system for real‐time monitoring of multiple biomarkers in interstitial fluid. The device integrates stainless steel‐based minimally invasive microneedles with ion‐selective membranes, enabling simultaneous Na+, K+, Ca2+, pH, and glucose detection.

Strength and GSI of deep rock mass: A GZZ strength criterion- and non-associated flow rule-based constitutive model and its application

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology
Accurate mechanical parameters are crucial for deep rock engineering. Traditional two-dimensional strength models often fail to reflect the complex three-dimensional mechanical properties of deep rock mass.

Rock mass ratings and properties

open access: yes, 2019
Engineers have excavated rocks for mining and tunnel purposes for hundreds of years. Unfortunately, there have been several occasions where a section or the whole tunnel collapsed in weak or heavily weathered rocks.

Strain‐Preserving Transfer of Freestanding Oxide Membranes for Tunable Magnetic Anisotropy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An epoxy‐assisted exfoliation and transfer strategy circumvents the trade‐off between structural flexibility and strain tunability in freestanding oxide membranes. Epitaxial strain is effectively preserved, enabling versatile and robust control of magnetic anisotropy without sacrificing flexibility.

Deep Eutectic Polymer Electrolyte with Competitive Hydrogen‐Bonding Coordination for High‐Voltage Nickel‐rich Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To stabilize high‐voltage Li||NCM811 batteries, we develop an in situ polymerized deep‐eutectic electrolyte (p‐DEPE) featuring competitive hydrogen‐bonding coordination. This design weakens Ni4+ adsorption, suppresses oxygen release, and enhances interfacial stability.
