Effect of the Initial Support of the Tunnel on the Characteristics of Rockburst: Case Study and Mechanism Analysis

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2022
Rockburst is still a stubborn disease in the field of engineering geology. The present research pays more attention to the influence of geological conditions on rockburst and less to the influence of type and stiffness of engineering support on rockburst.

Energy evolution mechanism during rockburst development in structures of surrounding rocks of deep rockburst-prone roadways in coal mines

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2023
Influenced by the deep high-stress environment, geological structures, and mining disturbance in coal mines, the frequency of rockburst disasters in roadways is increasing. This research analyzed energy evolution characteristics during rockburst development in the elastic bearing zone and energy conversion in the plastic failure zone.

Rockburst prediction based on data preprocessing and hyperband‐RNN‐DNN

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
A data preprocessing workflow is proposed to address challenges in rockburst data analysis. Coupled algorithms preprocess the data set, and hyperband optimization is used to enhance RNN performance. Results show that preprocessing improves accuracy, while dense layers enhance model stability and prediction performance.

Experimental study on the effect of unloading rate on gneiss rockburst

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
Rockburst are often encountered in tunnel construction due to the complex geological conditions. To study the influence of unloading rate on rockburst, gneiss rockburst experiments were conducted under three groups of unloading rates.

A study of the characteristics and influence mechanism of time delayed rockburst in a TBM tunnel under the blasting disturbance

open access: yesShuiwen dizhi gongcheng dizhi, 2023
The occurrence of time delayed rockburst usually has strong randomness and will pose a great threat to construction safety. Excavation disturbance and blasting disturbance will have impact of varying degrees on the potential time delayed rockburst area ...

Failure characteristics and the energy criterion of rock with a through‐going joint under true‐triaxial unloading conditions: Insights from the DEM model

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The rock failure mode is significantly influenced by the contributing factors, such as the joint inclination, the initial confining pressure, and the unloading point. We found six typical rock failure modes after a large number of numerical tests. Abstract Excavation unloading damages rock masses, with preferential failure along geological defects in ...
