Chattering: an overlooked peculiarity of rocking motion [PDF]
Complete chattering occurs when a structure undergoes a theoretically infinite sequence of impacts in finite time, that eventually bring the structure to the state of persistent (continuous) contact. This study investigates the conditions under which a rigid rocking block undergoes complete chattering when subjected to sinusoidal ground excitation. The

Rocking motion in solid proteins studied by the 15N proton-decoupled R1ρ relaxometry. [PDF]
Recently it has been revealed that proteins in solid samples undergo slow overall rocking. The parameters of this motion depend on intermolecular interactions.

Effective rocking motion for inducing sleep in adults - Verification of effect of mother's embrace and rocking motion [PDF]
We investigated the most effective rocking motion for inducing sleep in adults. We prepared ten types of rocking motions, including two types of mother’s rocking motions.

The effect of rocking stapes motions on the cochlear fluid flow and on the basilar membrane motion [PDF]
The basilar membrane (BM) and perilymph motion in the cochlea due to rocking stapes motion (RSM) and piston-like stapes motion (PSM) is modeled by numerical simulations. The full Navier–Stokes equations are solved in a two-dimensional box geometry. The BM motion is modeled by independent oscillators using an immersed boundary technique.

Theoretical Research on Contact Length in the Rocking Motion Wire Saw
Rocking motion wire saw with the additional rocking motion of either the wire or the workpiece is a new machining method compared with the traditional wire saw. The length of contact between the wire and the workpiece changes in this new saw process.
