Ground Vibration Measures for the Rocking Vibration of the Piers with Two-Box Girders Bridge

open access: yesEarth & Space 2008, 2008
Vibration caused by running vehicles on a highway bridge is spread to the superstructure, substructure s and ground. The ground vibrates both in horizontal and vertical direction. When vehicles load at the tip of the cross beam in the T -shape d pier , rocking vibration of the pier occurs. Its ground vibration in transverse direction is the biggest. In

Negative thermal expansion properties in tetragonal NbPO5 from the first principles studies

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
By using the first-principles calculations based on density functional theory combined with quasi-harmonic approximation, we have studied the geometric structural, thermal properties, and the negative thermal expansion (NTE) properties of tetrahedral ...

Evaluation of Vibration Measurements at Rock Drilling

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2004
The paper presents a method for vibration measurements at rotary drilling of andesite, granite and limestone. The measurements were carried out on the drilling stand using diamond-impregnated bits of 46 mm diameter. The vibration signal was monitored by the Microlog CMVA55 at constant input parameters (constant thrust or constant revolutions).

Seismic Response Analysis of Continuous Girder Bridges Crossing Faults with Assembled Rocking-Self-Centering Piers

open access: yesBuildings
Under the action of cross-fault ground motion, bridge piers can experience significant residual displacements, which can irreversibly impact the integrity and reliability of the bridge structure.

Statistical valuation of vibrations at the rock drilling

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2006
The paper describes a measuring device providing a monitoring of forced vibrations arising at the rock cutting by impregnated diamond drilling tools at quasi-constant revolutions and thrust levels. The forced vibrations were measured by a capacity acceleration transducer.

Phytomediated stress modulates antioxidant status, induces overexpression of CYP6M2, Hsp70, α-esterase, and suppresses the ABC transporter in Anopheles gambiae (sensu stricto) exposed to Ocimum tenuiflorum extracts.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
The incorporation of phytoactive compounds in the management of malarial vectors holds promise for the development of innovative and efficient alternatives.

Balancing Accuracy and Efficiency in Wire-Rope Isolator Modeling: A Simplified Beam-Element Framework

open access: yesVibration
Wire-rope isolators (WRIs) are widely used in vibration and seismic protection due to their multidirectional flexibility and amplitude-dependent hysteretic damping.
