Fiber link design considerations for cloud-Radio Access Networks [PDF]
Analog radio over fiber (RoF) links may offer advantages for cloud-Radio Access Networks in terms of component cost, but the behavior of the distortion with large numbers of subcarriers needs to be understood. In this paper, this is presented in terms of

In a dense cellular network, the small cell size and limited frequency make it hard to control the traffic, and hence, there is a necessity for the transmission points to know how much traffic they can handle.

Tunable microwave signal generator with an optically-injected 1310nm QD-DFB laser [PDF]
Tunable microwave signal generation with frequencies ranging from below 1 GHz to values over 40 GHz is demonstrated experimentally with a 1310nm Quantum Dot (QD) Distributed-Feedback (DFB) laser. Microwave signal generation is achieved using the period 1

A Novel Approach for Predicting the Height of the Water-Flow Fracture Zone in Undersea Safety Mining
The height of the water-flow fracture zone (WFZ) is an important reference for designing the size of a waterproof crown pillar. Once the WFZ is connected with the sea, there will be catastrophic consequences, especially for undersea mining.

Nano Radio and RoF Applications
AbstractA new design of THz frequency carrier generation for radio frequency identification (RFID) application is proposed. The dense wavelength division multiplexing can be generated and obtained by using a Gaussian or soliton pulses propagating within a modified add-drop filter known as a PANDA ring resonator.

Improved IEEE 802.11 point coordination function considering fiber-delay difference in distributed antenna systems [PDF]
In this paper, we present an improved IEEE 802.11 wireless local-area network (WLAN) medium access control (MAC) mechanism for simulcast radio-over-fiber-based distributed antenna systems where multiple remote antenna units (RAUs) are connected to one ...

Highly Versatile Real‐Time Optical Noise Filtering Through Temporal Cloaking
Conventional bandpass filtering strategies may be insufficient for recovering optical waveforms under extremely noisy conditions. We demonstrate a temporal‐cloaking denoising strategy enabled by the temporal Talbot effect, which concentrates the coherent signal of interest into short temporal slots while broadband noise remains temporally spread.
