Bus bar embedded rogowski coil
This paper presents a design procedure of a bus bar embedded Rogowski coil in a laminated bus bar from the viewpoint of geometry. The current sensor can detect a current waveform inside the laminated bus bar. The characteristics of the current sensor depend on the both the coil and the laminated bus bar geometry; therefore, the impact of the coil ...

The Rogowski Coil Principles and Applications: A Review
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2015The Rogowski coil is an old device for current measurement. It has been modified and improved over a century and is still being studied for new applications. The Rogowski coil has various advantages over conventional magnetic current transformers (CTs). Not only can it be used instead of CT, but also it has various utilizations in other fields.

Magnetic shielding of Rogowski coils
2017 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), 2017This paper describes the impact of Rogowski coil (RC) construction imperfections on measurement errors. A procedure is shown for detecting RC non-homogeneity using a rotary dipole magnetic field inducing a current inside an RC. The influence of RC magnetic shielding on reducing spurious fields is described.

Rogowski coils: theory and experimental results
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1979The theory is given of the voltage output of a Rogowski coil excited by a current pulse flowing along the axis of the coil. In this theory the Rogowski coil is considered as a delay line. The results do not differ from those obtained usually by considering the coil as a voltage source dφ/dt with an inductive output impedance.

Determination of Rogowski Coil Constant
2006 International Conference on Applied Electronics, 2006Method of determination of Rogowski coil (RC) constant at 50 Hz frequency is described in the article. The RC constant determining dependence between output voltage and measured current is checked and also a phase displacement of these two quantities is measured. Analysis of measurement uncertainties is also presented.

IEEE Potentials, 2008
This study has analyzed the performance of an alternating electric current measuring system using a Rogowski coil as a transducer, applied to magnitudes of milliamps to hundreds of amperes. It has been noticed that for low amplitudes, as well as for low frequencies, noise interferes with precision.

Continuous calibration of Rogowski coil current transducer
2015 IEEE 13th International New Circuits and Systems Conference (NEWCAS), 2015Rogowski coils (RC) used for high-accuracy contact-less current measurement ask for precise sensor geometry and specific conditions, such as a centered primary conductor. To relax these constraints, we propose here a recently patented continuous calibration system which features a reference conductor added coaxially to the primary conductor and a ...
