AbstractNeuropathic pain is caused by injury of the peripheral or central nervous system. The neurological examination of the sensory system in neuropathic pain patients guides the anatomical localization of the injury. Among the sensory modalities to be tested, priority should be given to those subserved by small peripheral sensory fibers or by the ...

PRESSING ROLLER WITH A ROLLER SLEEVE
2004A pressing roller comprises a roller sleeve (1), mounted such as to rotate on a stationary support (2), fixed to support discs (4) and which may be displaced in the axial direction on the support (2). The roller sleeve (1) is placed under tension by means of a tensioning device (11,12), which engages with the support discs (4).

Sometimes, debugging reminds me of a sine wave, you know, the 5 stages of grief, followed by the 5 stages of the fix. Today is a 7-out-of-10-green-lights-on-the-way-to-work kind of day. I'm feeling fine, not great, not bad, just cruising along, when my project manager hands me a bug report.

Roller Skewing Behavior in Roller Bearings
Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1982Measurements of roller skewing of a 1.15 length to diameter ratio roller in 118 mm bore roller bearings of 0.18 and 0.21 mm (0.0073 and 0.0083 in.) clearance operating with a 4450 N (1000 lb) radial load at shaft speeds of 4000, 8000, and 12,000 rpm with outer race misalignment of 0, 0.5, and −0.5 deg are reported.

In brief Sixty-two patients with rollerskating injuries were seen over an 18-month period. Most (71%) of the patients were girls and women, and ages ranged from 6 to 62 years. Most injuries were caused when the skaters lost their balance and fell backwards onto their hands.

Recent reports have emphasized the role of roller-coaster rides in the occurrence of neurologic complications such as cervical artery dissections,1 chronic subdural hematoma,2,3 subarachnoid hemorrhage,4 and spinal CSF leak.5 We report a patient with a previously asymptomatic syringomyelia and Chiari malformation who presented with acute neurologic ...

Correction of the roller generators in spherical roller bearings
Wear, 1996The subject of this work is the optimization of correction of the roller generators in the spherical roller bearing. Arch correction, resulting from the bearing construction, and arch-logarithmic correction have been discussed herein. In the studies on the effect of correction parameters on the contact capacity, the authors used a computer program ...

Roller coasters are an attractive, adventurous and exciting form of entertainment. In this paper, we present a virtual roller coaster system, which includes roller coaster simulation software, a motion platform and a motion control unit. We investigate the track structure of the roller coaster and propose a methodology to generate the track ...

Mechanics of Roller Instability in Roller Bearings.
1978Abstract : An analytical formulation for the roller motion in a cylindrical roller bearing is presented in terms of the classical differential equations of motion. Roller-race interaction is analyzed in detail and the resulting force and moment vectors are determined.
