GEOMETRIC DESIGN OF ROLLER DRIVES WITH CONICAL ROLLERS

Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, 2004
This work presents a mathematical model to design the roller drives with conical rollers. It is based on coordinate transformation, theory of conjugate surfaces, from which the equation of meshing is derived. A program is developed to solve the conjugate surface equations and the centres of the teeth of the pinion is determined by equidistant offset ...

Capillary Rollers and Bores

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1992
At any free surface at which the tangential stress τns vanishes there must be a surface vorticity ω = −2κq, where κ is the curvature and q the tangential velocity. In a surface wave on water, this condition produces a (Stokes) boundary layer with thickness of order δ = (2ν/σ)½, where ν is the kinemetic viscosity and σ the radian frequency of the wave ...

MODERNIZATION OF CUSHIONING DEVICES OF ROLLERS ROLLERS

2022

A miniaturised roller pump

Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 1987
A roller pump is described which is able to pump microlitre quantities of solution in either direction. It depends upon a caged roller bearing where the individual rollers press against silicon rubber tubing having an internal diameter of 0.5 mm. This assembly was housed in a cylindrical cavity shaped to produce a non-pulsatile flow. The pump is driven

Roller skating injuries

Annals of Emergency Medicine, 1980
An increasing number of patients who have sustained injuries while roller skating are being seen in emergency departments; more can be expected. One hundred consecutive charts of patients who presented to the emergency department after roller skating accidents were reviewed. Sixty-five percent of patients had sustained a fracture or dislocation.

ROLLER BOARD TRACTION

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1959
Traction of one form or another has been a popular treatment for low back and sciatic pain for the past two decades, and it was mentioned by Dickson 1 in 1936. Many have applied traction to one or both lower extremities by adhesive tape or mole skin, either directly on the skin or acting through sponge rubber, a stockinette, or a carefully fitted boot.
