In brief Sixty-two patients with rollerskating injuries were seen over an 18-month period. Most (71%) of the patients were girls and women, and ages ranged from 6 to 62 years. Most injuries were caused when the skaters lost their balance and fell backwards onto their hands.

An improved planar dynamic model for vibration analysis of a cylindrical roller bearing
, 2020Vibration analysis of cylindrical roller bearings (CRBs) can be useful for controlling the vibration characteristics of the machinery. To overcome this problem, an improved planar dynamic model is presented for calculating the vibrations of a CRB.

Photo roller lithography systems can generate patterns continuously over large areas by employing flexible photomasks on rotating quartz cylinders. In comparison, plasmonic lithography systems can reach deep sub-wavelength resolution utilizing evanescent waves carrying high spatial frequency components.

AbstractNeuropathic pain is caused by injury of the peripheral or central nervous system. The neurological examination of the sensory system in neuropathic pain patients guides the anatomical localization of the injury. Among the sensory modalities to be tested, priority should be given to those subserved by small peripheral sensory fibers or by the ...

Roller coaster–induced barotrauma
The Laryngoscope, 2010AbstractWe present the case of a 24‐year‐old male who presented to the otolaryngology clinic for otalgia and aural fullness after riding a roller coaster. We present his clinical course and outcome and briefly discuss the mechanism of injury and otologic barotrauma.

An increasing number of patients who have sustained injuries while roller skating are being seen in emergency departments; more can be expected. One hundred consecutive charts of patients who presented to the emergency department after roller skating accidents were reviewed. Sixty-five percent of patients had sustained a fracture or dislocation.

PRESSING ROLLER WITH A ROLLER SLEEVE
2004A pressing roller comprises a roller sleeve (1), mounted such as to rotate on a stationary support (2), fixed to support discs (4) and which may be displaced in the axial direction on the support (2). The roller sleeve (1) is placed under tension by means of a tensioning device (11,12), which engages with the support discs (4).

Traction of one form or another has been a popular treatment for low back and sciatic pain for the past two decades, and it was mentioned by Dickson 1 in 1936. Many have applied traction to one or both lower extremities by adhesive tape or mole skin, either directly on the skin or acting through sponge rubber, a stockinette, or a carefully fitted boot.
