En viñedos, las cubiertas vegetales chafadas con el rolo-faca, o 'roller crimper', proporcionan un buen manejo de las malas hierbas, pero su efectividad depende de la especie sembrada y del momento de su finalización. Con este fin se ha realizado un experimento en viñedos (Vitis vinifera) ecológicos ubicados en Raimat (Lleida).
