In vitro genotoxicity of root canal sealers
International Endodontic Journal, 2009AbstractAim To evaluate the effect of leakage on differences in genotoxicity of root canal sealers ex vivo according to their main components using two different cytogenetic assays.Methodology Six materials of different composition (GuttaFlow, Epiphany, Diaket, IRM, SuperEBA and Hermetic) were tested on human peripheral blood lymphocytes using the ...

Solubility of Root Canal Sealers: A Comparative Study
The International Journal of Artificial Organs, 2010Introduction Root canal sealers used in odontological applications are capable of providing an apical seal, thus inhibiting potential bacterial penetration into the periradicular tissues. Since insolubility is the ideal characteristic for a root canal sealer material, in dentistry the sealability of the material

Adhesion of a Glass–Ionomer Root Canal Sealer to the Root Canal Wall
Journal of Endodontics, 2001Glass-ionomer root canal sealer is commonly used because of its chemical bonding and favorable physical characteristics when bonding to dentin. This study was designed to determine the tensile bond strength of a glass-ionomer sealer (Ketac Endo, Espe, Seefeld, Germany) on root canal walls after pretreatment with different conditioners.

Glass Ionomer Root Canal Sealers
Journal of Veterinary Dentistry, 1993Since their introduction, glassionomer cements have undergone changes in formulations and have been endorsed for a number of clinical applications. Consistent reporting of bio-compatibility, durable adhesion, and beneficial fluoride release have followed the evolving glass ionomer cement.

In vivo evaluation of root canal sealer distribution
Journal of Endodontics, 1995The effectiveness of sealer placement and its distribution in the prepared root canal system by an energized ultrasonic file was evaluated in vivo. One hundred patients had sealer placed into prepared root canals with either the master gutta-percha cone or an ultrasonic file.

Evaluation of the radiopacity of different root canal sealers
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2009The aims of this study were to compare the radiopacity of 8 root canal sealers relative to gutta-percha and dentin in standard discs and to evaluate the effect of these sealers on the radiopacity of root canal fillings in simulated canals.Radiographs were taken of 1-mm-thick specimens of 8 root canal sealers (Diaket, Endion, MTA, Endofil, Roeko Seal ...

The Rheology of Selected Root Canal Sealer Cements
Journal of Endodontics, 1978A study of the rheological changes of selected root canal sealer cements by indirect capillary extrusion viscometry is presented. Viscosity was measured as a function of shear rate and as a function of elapsed time after mixing the root canal sealer cements.

Genotoxicity of root canal sealers: a literature review
Clinical Oral Investigations, 2020Root canal sealers are widely used worldwide in endodontics to prevent reinfection and growth of surviving microorganisms. Considering the strong correlation between genetic damage and carcinogenesis, evaluation of genotoxicity induced by endodontic sealers is recommended for elucidating the true health risks to patients and professionals.

Sealing properties of a new root canal sealer
International Endodontic Journal, 2009AbstractAim To evaluate bacterial leakage of Apexit Plus, a new root canal sealer, in comparison with AH Plus.Methodology A total of 56 single‐rooted human teeth were randomly divided into two experimental groups of 16 roots and two control groups. Roots were filled by lateral condensation with Gutta‐percha and AH Plus or with Gutta‐percha and Apexit
