Evaluating the Efficacy of Bioceramic versus Resin-Based Sealers in Endodontic Treatments: A Comparative Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Background: Root canal therapy relies heavily on the effectiveness of the sealer used to ensure successful treatment outcomes. Bioceramic and resin-based sealers are commonly employed, each offering distinct advantages and drawbacks.

Antimicrobial activity of root canal sealers [PDF]

open access: yesStomatoloski glasnik Srbije, 2006
All root canal sealers should have antimicrobial activity so that they could act against any remaining bacteria after root canal obturation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of five root canal sealers: AH26, a resin based paste; Apexit, calcium hydroxide based paste; Endomethasone and Tubliseal, zinc oxide eugenol based ...

Allogeneic Immune Cell Perfusion Inhibits the Growth of Vascularized 3D In Vitro Tumor Models, Induces Vascular Regression and Desmoplasia, but Promotes Tumor Cell Invasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a vascularized 3D tumor model to investigate immune–stromal–tumor interactions under allogeneic PBMC perfusion. While immune cells induced tumor shrinkage, they also promoted vascular regression, stromal activation, and cancer cell invasion.

In Vitro Antibacterial Activity of Different Bioceramic Root Canal Sealers

open access: yesCeramics, 2022
Bioceramic root canal sealers have been introduced in clinical dental use, but less is known about the antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus salivarius, and Streptococcus sanguis.

Catechol Derivative‐Based Bioadhesives: Molecular Design for Precision Medical Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study utilizes tree‐inspired side‐chain engineering to graft five catechol derivatives onto PVA, systematically revealing how side‐chain length and substituents regulate adhesion and cohesion properties. Among them, the PVA‐CA patch demonstrates superior tissue adhesion, biocompatibility, and promotes regeneration, establishing a programmable ...

Water uptake and solubility of Acroseal sealer in comparison with Apexit and AH Plus sealers in Hank’s solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Introduction. The function of root canal fillings is to seal the root canal system. The important physical property necessary for sealers to achieve this is low solubility.

Tunable Sound Absorption via Evanescent‐Wave Coupling in Asymmetric Bilayer Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tunable sound absorption is realized through a bilayer metasurface system governed by evanescent‐wave coupling. This work demonstrates that such evanescent‐wave coupling provides a controllable scattering channel that destructively interferes with the specular reflection.

Physicochemical, cytotoxicity, and biological properties of calcium silicate-based root canal sealers: A literature review

open access: yesSaudi Endodontic Journal, 2020
The aim of this study was to evaluate the main calcium silicate-based root canal sealers (bioceramic-based root canal sealers) currently used in endodontic field as well as their specific characteristics and to compare with other conventional sealers.
