Screening techniques and sources of resistance to root rots and wilts in cool season food legumes [PDF]
Soilborne, fungal pathogens of cool season food legumes, including seed and seedling blights, rot rots, and wilts are described. Seed and seedling diseases are caused primarily by Pythium and Rhizoctonia spp.

Root rots are a major concern in field pea production in North Dakota. However, it is unclear which pathogens are involved in causing these diseases. This report brings together findings from surveys conducted over four years (2004, 2005, 2008, and 2009).

Evaluation of a portable MOS electronic nose to detect root rots in shade tree species
The early detection of wood decays in high-value standing trees is very important in urban areas because mitigating control measures must be implemented long before tree failures result in property damage or injuries to citizens.

Bioassay to assess root rot in pea and effect of root rot on yield
Netherlands Journal of Plant Pathology, 1993Infection of pea roots by soil-borne pathogens causes foot and root rot. In 1985 research was started to develop a method to predict the root rot likely to occur in prospective pea fields. In a bioassay the pea cultivar Finale was sown in a composite soil sample from each field in pots under standardized conditions in the greenhouse.

In the root rot complex in crocus, three different causes have been identified. Under conditions prevailing in The Netherlands, free-living nematodes (Pratylenchus penetrans andP. pratensis) seem to be of minor importance. The present study has shown that roots are incidentally invaded byStromatinia gladioli; the corms and leaf-sheaths appear to be ...

Recent Studies on Phymatotrichum Root-Rot
American Journal of Botany, 1930In I923 (20) the disease was recorded in 67 counties of Texas. A recent compilation shows root-rot in I96 counties (text fig. i). It is quite probable that as the studies continue, it will be found that the disease has even a wider distribution. Root-rot has not yet been found in the Plains country around Lubbock, nor in the extreme north of the Texas ...
