Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Fine root lifespan depending on their diameter and soil depth

open access: yes, 2015
Introduction Fine root dynamics control plant growth and development and play a major role in the global carbon cycle through the uptake of water and nutrients as well as respiration and decomposition processes.

Continuous cropping changes the absorption and accumulation of elements in Casuarina equisetifolia, thus affecting its physiological properties

open access: yesOpen Life Sciences
Continuous monoculture affects elemental uptake in Casuarina equisetifolia (C. equisetifolia). In this study, C. equisetifolia with different numbers of continuous plantings was used to determine multi-element contents in rhizosphere soil, roots, and ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Root temperature and growth of young tomato plants

open access: yes, 1977
During recent years sophisticated techniques are applied in the glasshouse industry for the control of the glasshouse climate. Along with that development, extensive research programs were carried out to establish optimum conditions for growth.

Embeddings of root systems I: Root systems over commutative rings

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2009
The paper under review considers a class of reflection representations of Coxeter groups over commutative unital rings \(R\) and their corresponding root systems. For \(R=\mathbb{R}\), these include the standard (real, reduced) root systems. In general, they also include, for any (unital) subring \(Z\) of \(\mathbb{R}\), certain root systems over ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Substantiation of Distributor Parameters for Tiered Application of Mineral Fertilizer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology
Intensive and extensive crop cultivation technologies are leading to the depletion of agricultural land fertility, causing a gradual decline in grain productivity.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Hydraulic conductivity of whole root system is better than hydraulic conductivity of single root in correlation with the leaf water status of maize

open access: yes, 2006
Under hydroponic culture conditions, we studied the relationship between two different types of root hydraulic conductivity of maize (Zea mays L.) and its leaf water status. The results have proved the inaccuracy of the single root hydraulic conductivity
