School Vision Screening Data Informing a County-Based Community Health Needs Assessment
Purpose: The objective of this study was to (I) analyze Arkansas school nurse vision screening data, (II) provide a county-based pediatric vision care need assessment, and (III) evaluate eye care provider workforce in both rural and urban settings to ...

Roots and Root Function: Introduction
Eleven years ago, in a review article, [Clothier and Green (1997)][1] assessed the hydrologic budget at the land surface and pronounced that plant roots are “the big movers of water and chemical” in the vadose zone.

LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.

Taurine promotes glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion in enteroendocrine L cells
Taurine, a sulfur‐containing amino acid, is likely taken up by enteroendocrine L cells via the taurine transporter. This process increases the levels of cytosolic ATP. The increase in intracellular Ca2+ concentrations and glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion through membrane depolarization is caused by the closure of ATP‐sensitive potassium channels ...

Drawing a Rooted Tree as a Rooted $y-$Monotone Minimum Spanning Tree [PDF]
Given a rooted point set $P$, the rooted $y-$Monotone Minimum Spanning Tree (rooted $y-$MMST) of $P$ is the spanning geometric graph of $P$ in which all the vertices are connected to the root by some $y-$monotone path and the sum of the Euclidean lengths of its edges is the minimum. We show that the maximum degree of a rooted $y-$MMST is not bounded by

Roots of miscommunication [PDF]
This paper proposes an account for the problem of miscommunication observed between native and non-native speakers of the English language. The analysis of interviews has shown that monologues produced by Russian speakers of English are structurally different from American monologues.

The NlpC_P60 superfamily of peptidases is recognised by its key role in bacterial cell wall homeostasis. Recently, studies have also described the involvement of NlpC_P60‐like enzymes in bacterial competitive mechanisms and pathogenesis across several lineages.

Ultrasound elastography in the assessment of post-stroke muscle stiffness: a systematic review
Background Post-stroke muscle stiffness is a major challenge in the rehabilitation of stroke survivors, with no gold standard in clinical assessment. Muscle stiffness is typically evaluated by the Modified Ashworth Scale or the Tardieu Scale; however ...

On rigidity of abstract root systems of Coxeter systems [PDF]
We introduce and study a combinatorially defined notion of root basis of a (real) root system of a possibly infinite Coxeter group. Known results on conjugacy up to sign of root bases of certain irreducible finite rank real root systems are extended to abstract root bases, to a larger class of real root systems, and, with a short list of (genuine ...
