Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

DEVELOPMENT OF AN LADRC-BASED TILLAGE DEPTH CONTROL SYSTEM FOR ELECTRIC ROTARY TILLER [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola
Precision control of tillage depth is crucial for optimizing soil preparation in tea plantations. This study presents an adaptive real-time tillage depth control system based on Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control (LADRC) to address precision ...

Design and Control of a Linear Rotary Electro-Hydraulic Servo Drive Unit

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
In this paper, a new solution for an electro-hydraulic servo drive is proposed, which consists of two electro-hydraulic servo drives: one with a hydraulic cylinder and one with a hydraulic rotary motor.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Physical pictures of rotation mechanisms of F1- and V1-ATPases: Leading roles of translational, configurational entropy of water

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences, 2023
We aim to develop a theory based on a concept other than the chemo-mechanical coupling (transduction of chemical free energy of ATP to mechanical work) for an ATP-driven protein complex. Experimental results conflicting with the chemo-mechanical coupling

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Design of a linear-rotary ultrasonic motor for optical focusing inspired by the bionic motion principles of the earthworms

open access: yesInternational Journal of Smart and Nano Materials, 2022
Multi-motor configuration of multi-DOF (degree of freedom) optical system is a major source of redundant structure, putting a limitation on the simple and miniaturized design. Thus, a novel two-DOF ultrasonic motor (USM) is proposed to provide a feasible

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
