Dual-Mode Sea Ice Extent Retrieval for the Rotating Fan Beam Scatterometer
Scatterometers are highlighted in polar applications, such as sea ice extent retrieval. There are currently three types of spaceborne scatterometer in operation, among which the rotating pencil beam scatterometer and the rotating fan beam scatterometer ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Novel open cavity design for rotating mode rf pulse compressors
A new X-band high-power rotating mode SLAC energy doubler (SLED)-type rf pulse compressor is proposed. It is based on a novel cavity type, a single open bowl-shaped energy storage cavity with high-quality factor and compact size, which is coupled to the ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Effect of Mach Number on Stability of Boundary Layer Over a Rotating Cone in Hypersonic Flow
Spinning vehicles achieve gyroscopic effects by rotating around their axis. However, transition significantly influences the stability of flight. In this work, a study of instability on the unstable modes in boundary layers over a rotating cone in ...

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.
