Rotational energy surfaces of molecules exhibiting internal rotation [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 1994
Rotational energy surfaces [W. G. Harter and C. W. Patterson, J. Chem. Phys. 80, 4241 (1984)] for a molecule with internal rotation are constructed. The study is limited to torsional states at or below the top of the barrier to internal rotation, where the extra (torsional) degree of freedom can be eliminated by expanding eigenvalues of the torsion–K ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Surface rotation of Kepler solar-type stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Dark spots crossing the stellar disk lead to periodic modulations in stellar light-curves that encode information on surface rotation and magnetic activity.

Effect of Flowing Conditions on the Corrosion Inhibition of Carbon Steel by Extract of Buddleia Perfoliata

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2013
Buddleia perfoliata leaves extract has been investigated as a carbon steel corrosion inhibitor in 0.5 M sulfuric acid by using polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and electrochemical noise (EN) at different rotation speeds ...

Rotation Systems and Simple Drawings in Surfaces

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics
Every simple drawing of a graph in the plane naturally induces a rotation system, but it is easy to exhibit a rotation system that does not arise from a simple drawing in the plane. We extend this to all surfaces: for every fixed surface $\Sigma$, there is a rotation system that does not arise from a simple drawing in $\Sigma$.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Review of the effects of energy crops on hydrology. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
1) MAFF has recently launched a scheme to support the expansion of the area of energy crops grown in England in order to meet the nation’s Kyoto targets for the reduction in CO2 emissions.

Dynamic 3D Simulation of Surface Charging on Rotating Asteroids

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The surface-charging phenomenon of asteroids, mainly resulting from solar wind plasma and solar radiation, has been extensively studied. However, the influence of the asteroid’s rotation on surface charging is not yet fully understood.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Multi-Camera-Based Sorting System for Surface Defects of Apples

open access: yesSensors, 2023
In this paper, we addressed the challenges in sorting high-yield apple cultivars that traditionally relied on manual labor or system-based defect detection.
