Micromechanical analysis of kinematic hardening in natural clay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents a micromechanical analysis of the macroscopic behaviour of natural clay. A microstructural stress-strain model for clayey material has been developed which considers clay as a collection of clusters.

Constitutive modeling of plastic effects of cyclic principal stress rotation of natural soft clay

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2022
A constitutive model which can reflect the plastic effects of the principal stress rotation of natural soft clay is proposed based on the anisotropic bounding surface model.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Rotation-induced macromolecular spooling of DNA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Genetic information is stored in a linear sequence of base pairs; however, thermal fluctuations and complex DNA conformations such as folds and loops make it challenging to order genomic material for in vitro analysis.

Minuscule Corrections to Near-surface Solar Internal Rotation Using Mode Coupling

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series, 2023
The observed solar oscillation spectrum is influenced by internal perturbations such as flows and structural asphericities. These features induce splitting of characteristic frequencies and distort the resonant-mode eigenfunctions.

Rotational Ricci surfaces

open access: yesAnnali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata (1923 -)
Term "free boundary" in Section 4 changed for "meeting the boundary orthogonally". Final version to appear in Ann. Mat.

The Effect of Rotation on RGB Surface Abundances [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1997
Pop II field and globular cluster giant stars (and, to a less extent, Pop I giants) exhibit chemical anomalies which are not predicted by standard stellar evolution theory. Two hypotheses have been proposed to explain these abundance variations, namely the primordial and the evolutionary explanations.

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Toroidal-poloidal partitioning of plate motions since 120 MA [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Changes in plate motions and plate configurations during the Cenozoic and Mesozoic have been investigated extensively, but most geodynamical models have concentrated on present-day plate motions.
