Postoperative Shoulder Stiffness After Rotator Cuff Repair

2015
Postoperative shoulder stiffness (POSS) is an acquired loss of motion, occurring after a known surgical or traumatic event. Biomechanically, a stiff shoulder is one in which at least one of the shoulder’s motion interfaces has been compromised, thus, limiting maximal excursion.

Rotational Stiffness of Football Shoes Influences Talus Motion during External Rotation of the Foot

Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 2012
Shoe-surface interface characteristics have been implicated in the high incidence of ankle injuries suffered by athletes. Yet, the differences in rotational stiffness among shoes may also influence injury risk. It was hypothesized that shoes with different rotational stiffness will generate different patterns of ankle ligament strain.

The research of zero torsional stiffness rotating gyroscope

2010 The 2nd International Conference on Industrial Mechatronics and Automation, 2010
A kind of gyroscope which used to detect yaw angular velocity of the rotating carrier is designed and produced in the “zero torsional stiffness” condition. To analysis the gyroscope's working principle and establishing the mathematic model of the gyroscope, then designing and producing the gyroscope's sensitive structure of zero-torsion stiffness ...

Complications associated with postoperative stiffness following rotator cuff repair

European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery & Traumatology
Shoulder stiffness is a common complication following rotator cuff repair (RCR) surgery. However, there is a paucity of literature on the short-term effects of postoperative stiffness on outcomes following RCR. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of postoperative shoulder stiffness on short-term outcomes following RCR.The Nationwide ...

Four‐node quadrilateral stress membrane element with rotational stiffness

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1980
AbstractA four‐node quadrilateral membrane element with 12 degrees‐of‐freedom and based on stress assumptions is presented. The element has a rotational degree‐of‐freedom at each node associated with a moment.

Stiffness Analysis for Large-Travel Rotational Butterfly Pivot

Key Engineering Materials, 2010
Butterfly pivot is a large-travel rotational flexure pivot, which can provide elastic support for the rotational shaft in several ten degrees. Because of the complex structure, stiffness calculation of butterfly pivot is always completed by the method of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), which is not suitable for parameter design and optimization.

Rotational Stiffness of Deeply Embedded Column–Base Connections

Journal of Structural Engineering, 2017
AbstractDeeply embedded column–base (DECB) connections comprise a steel column embedded into a concrete footing, and are common in mid-rise to high-rise steel moment resisting frames.

Rotational strength and stiffness of tubular scaffold connectors

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2009
The most common form of access scaffold in the UK is tube-and-fitting. The assumption of zero rotational stiffness and strength in putlog connections is one of the factors leading to a reduction in the performance of these scaffolds when designed according to the latest European codes EN 12810 and EN 12811.
