Influence of stator and rotor geometric parameters on rotor bar current waveform and performance of IMs

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
In this study, the influence of the stator and rotor geometric parameters on the rotor bar current waveform and performance characteristics of a squirrel-cage induction machine (IM), based on a slot/pole number combination (48-stator slot/8-pole/52-rotor

Thermal Modeling of a Mini Rotor-Stator System [PDF]

open access: yesVolume 9: Heat Transfer, Fluid Flows, and Thermal Systems, Parts A, B and C, 2009
In this study the temperature increase and heat dissipation in the air gap of a cylindrical mini rotor stator system has been analyzed. A simple thermal model based on lumped parameter thermal networks has been developed. With this model the temperature dependent air properties for the fluid-rotor interaction models have been calculated.

Modeling and Evaluation of Stator and Rotor Faults for Induction Motors

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
The modeling of stator and rotor faults is the basis of the development of online monitoring techniques. To obtain reliable stator and rotor fault models, this paper focuses on dynamic modeling of the stator and rotor faults in real-time, which adopts a ...

On the transient behaviour of a laminar rotor–stator cavity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Mechanics, 2018
The unsteady laminar flow between two large rotating disks when one of them is impulsively started is described using the von Kármán similarity analysis to reduce the solution of the Navier–Stokes equations to a set of ordinary differential equations. It is found that the transient phenomenon consists of three distinct phases.

Mathematical model of stepped rotor type 12/14 bearingless switched reluctance motor based on maxwell stress method

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
The stator of the stepped rotor type bearingless switched reluctance motor has two kinds of wide and narrow stator teeth. The wide stator teeth provide suspension force, and the narrow stator teeth provide torque, so the decoupling control of torque and ...

Assessment of 3D modeling for rotor–stator contact simulations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sound and Vibration, 2015
Most often the dynamic analysis of rotor-to-stator rub is performed using 1D models. This leads to a small computational cost, but the reliability of the results is difficult to assess. This research work compares and analyzes the results of 1D and 3D rotor-stator contact problems, for different contact conditions more and less severe.

A Novel Evaluation Method for Vibration Coupling of Complex Rotor–Stator Systems in Aeroengines

open access: yesActuators
With the increase in thrust–weight ratio of advanced aeroengines, the rotor and stator often exhibit comparable stiffness characteristics, leading to significant vibration coupling which harms the safety and reliability of operations.

Impulsive Control of the Rotor-Stator Rub Based on Phase Characteristic

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
An impulsive control method is proposed to eliminate the rotor-stator rubbing based on the phase characteristic. The relation between the vibration energy and the phase difference suggests the starting point for controlling the rotor-stator rubbing by ...
