Flow Structures Inside a Rotor‐Stator Cavity [PDF]
This paper describes an experimental investigation initiated to determine the threedimensional flow field inside the rim seal cavity of a double‐shrouded rotor‐stator system. Thereby, the effects caused by perturbances in the rotor wall were additionally examined.

Detection and Diagnosis of Motor Stator Faults using Electric Signals from Variable Speed Drives [PDF]
Motor current signature analysis has been investigated widely for diagnosing faults of induction motors. However, most of these studies are based on open loop drives.

Thermal Modeling of a Mini Rotor-Stator System [PDF]
In this study the temperature increase and heat dissipation in the air gap of a cylindrical mini rotor stator system has been analyzed. A simple thermal model based on lumped parameter thermal networks has been developed. With this model the temperature dependent air properties for the fluid-rotor interaction models have been calculated.

Matrix structure of unified mathematical model of electric AC machines at control [PDF]
The matrix structure of the equations of a generalized electric alternating current machine is proposed, which, based on the Parke equations, is written in the coordinate axes of the machines rotating with the rotor speed.

On the transient behaviour of a laminar rotor–stator cavity [PDF]
The unsteady laminar flow between two large rotating disks when one of them is impulsively started is described using the von Kármán similarity analysis to reduce the solution of the Navier–Stokes equations to a set of ordinary differential equations. It is found that the transient phenomenon consists of three distinct phases.

Assessment of 3D modeling for rotor–stator contact simulations [PDF]
Most often the dynamic analysis of rotor-to-stator rub is performed using 1D models. This leads to a small computational cost, but the reliability of the results is difficult to assess. This research work compares and analyzes the results of 1D and 3D rotor-stator contact problems, for different contact conditions more and less severe.
