Detection of Ring Structure and Its Flexibility in Periplasmic Region of FliL, Bacterial Flagellar Stator‐Associate Protein, in Marine Vibrio

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, Volume 126, Issue 4, Page 351-358, October 2026.
FliL, a single‐pass transmembrane flagellar protein with a large periplasmic domain, associates with the basal body and supports motor function under high‐load conditions (e.g., viscous environments). The periplasmic domain of deletion mutant FliL forms a flexible ring structure, likely reflecting the capacity of the full‐length protein to adaptively ...

Enhancing Reference Tracking in Induction Motor Drives: A Hybrid Model Predictive Control and Artificial Neural Network Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Volume 36, Issue 14, Page 6719-6738, 25 September 2026.
ABSTRACT Induction motors (IMs) are widely used in industry for their robustness and cost‐effectiveness, yet their nonlinear and multivariable dynamics pose significant challenges for high‐performance speed control. Model Predictive Control (MPC) is a well‐established solution but suffers from limitations related to model accuracy and parameter ...

Designing an H-rotor type Wind Turbine for Operation on Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station

open access: yes, 2007
This thesis focuses on designing the turbine, tower structure and generator for an H-rotor type wind turbine. The produced power will be used for heating of drilling equipment, stored in containers, on the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. A 23 kW wind turbine producing 5 kW on average has been designed.

Analysis of Rotor Poles and Armature Winding Configurations Combinations of Wound Field Flux Switching Machines

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2021
The general rules of rotor pole and armature winding configurations combinations for 24-slot stator wound field flux switching machines (SWFFSMs) are investigated thoroughly in this article. Meanwhile, based on the virtual coil method, a novel general auxiliary evaluation variable, which is proportional to the fundamental amplitude of open-circuit flux-

Stator/Rotor Pole Combinations and Winding Configurations of Variable Flux Reluctance Machines

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2014
In this paper, stator/rotor pole combinations, winding configurations, and electromagnetic performance of novel variable flux reluctance machines (VFRMs), which employ a doubly salient structure similar to switched reluctance machines (SRMs) but with stator-located dc field windings, are investigated. VFRMs with 12 stator poles are taken as examples to

Consequent-Pole Toroidal-Winding Outer-Rotor Vernier Permanent-Magnet Machines

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2015
A novel consequent-pole toroidal-winding outer-rotor (CPTW) Vernier permanent-magnet (VPM) machine is proposed in this paper. Different from a regular VPM machine, the stator and rotor of the proposed machine employ the consequent-pole and toroidal-winding configurations, which can significantly reduce magnet consumption, shorten the end-winding length,

Low-Frequency Oscillation in Rotor Vibration of a Two-Pole Induction Machine With Extra Four-Pole Stator Winding

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2011
A two-pole induction machine with flexible rotor shaft and whirling rotor motion is considered. A 30 kW test machine is built with four-pole damper winding in stator. The construction of the machine and the test-setup are presented. The amplitude of measured vibration oscillates at twice the slip frequency.

Damper Winding Influence on Unbalanced Magnetic Pull in Salient Pole Generators With Rotor Eccentricity

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2013
The influence of three different damper winding configurations on unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP) in salient pole synchronous machines with rotor eccentricity has been investigated. Continuous and noncontinuous damper windings resulted in different damper winding currents, but their effect on the UMP was found to be very similar. Measurements of the UMP,
