We discuss stochastic calculus for large classes of Gaussian processes, based on rough path analysis. Our key condition is a covariance measure structure combined with a classical criterion due to Jain and Monrad [Ann. Probab. 11 (1983) 46-57].

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Fast Hybrid Schemes for Fractional Riccati Equations (Rough is not so Tough)
We solve a family of fractional Riccati differential equations with constant (possibly complex) coefficients. These equations arise, e.g., in fractional Heston stochastic volatility models, that have received great attention in the recent financial ...

This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...

Turbulent Fluid Flow Over Aerodynamically Rough Surfaces Using Direct Numerical Simulations [PDF]
Incompressible turbulent fluid flow in aerodynamically rough channels is investigated using direct numerical simulations. A comprehensive database of simulation data for rough surfaces with different topographical properties has been developed for 17 ...

hp-finite-elements for simulating electromagnetic fields in optical devices with rough textures
The finite-element method is a preferred numerical method when electromagnetic fields at high accuracy are to be computed in nano-optics design. Here, we demonstrate a finite-element method using hp-adaptivity on tetrahedral meshes for computation of ...

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...
